The third year of the war in Ukraine shows that there has been a balance (USA → Ukraine ↔ Russia ← China) of the forces applied by these four subjects: the USA and Ukraine on one side, China and Russia on the other. Moreover, both the USA and China are not interested in Ukraine in this chain of confrontation, only Russia. Everyone from them is interested so that the other does not get Russia.
In this context, the position of China is, of course, hostile to Ukraine, it helped and will help the enemy of Ukraine in the war started by Russia. It is interesting to observe how, after covering 6,000 km from Beijing to Moscow, the Chinese leader defiantly did not visit Kyiv on the way home from Moscow. And in the planned visits to Europe to France, Serbia and Hungary, in order to "give a new impetus to peaceful development in the whole world", Ukraine is not mentioned.
The selection of countries is clear: Xi Jinping is going to use the internal differences of Europe to strengthen China's influence in the EU. China's choice of Serbia and Hungary is understandable from the point of view of the pro-Russian position of the leadership of these countries. As well as the fact that not having more developed European countries in its anti-Ukrainian coalition, China does not hesitate to involve even the least significant states in Europe.
As for France, China obviously wants to persuade France, which has something to answer Russia in terms of nuclear confrontation, to abandon its position on the possibility of attracting troops of European countries to the fight against the Russian aggressor. There is no talk of the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine or an end to Russian aggression in the Chinese impulse for peaceful development throughout the world. Therefore, one should not hope to see in China even a state neutral for Ukraine.
